Banko di Palabra (bankodipalabra.com) is a Papiamentu dictionary and learning site. This page explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices — especially regarding cookies and advertising.

Who operates this site

The site is operated by the Banko di Palabra project team. For privacy questions or requests, contact ace@suares.com.

Data we collect

• Account data — if you register: email address, name, and password (stored hashed). You may delete your account via the profile settings.
• Usage analytics (Ahoy) — we record which pages are visited (for example dictionary lookups and tool usage), approximate visit timing, browser type, and referrer. This helps us understand which words and features are used. We do not sell this data.
• Server logs — our hosting provider may log IP addresses, request URLs, and timestamps for security and troubleshooting.
• Session cookies — required to keep you signed in and to protect forms (CSRF token).
• Advertising cookies (optional) — if you accept cookies in our banner, Google AdSense may set cookies to show and measure ads. See Google’s How Google uses data when you use our partners’ sites or apps.

Cookies and advertising

We use a first-party cookie (bdp_ad_consent) to remember whether you accepted or declined optional advertising cookies. Until you accept, we do not load Google AdSense scripts.

You can change your mind by clearing site cookies in your browser; the consent banner will appear again on your next visit.

Third parties

• External links — dictionary pages link to Glosbe, DCDP, Wikipedia, and other sites; those services have their own privacy policies.
